Our creel clerk went to Echo Bay to get some fish stories but not great success out there overall. Another fisherman caught a good mixed bag of stripers, largemouth bass, and smallmouth bass on swimbaits and crankbaits. Fishing has been good for stripers hanging on the surface following their food source. Anglers at the Wild West bass tournament last Sat-Sun had some impressive bags for this time of year, the winning seven fish bag was nearly 20 lbs. The biggest fish pulled out was a 5.5 pound largemouth. There were quite a few 3-plus pound fish weighed in.
