The Nestucca is in good shape but we are at the time of year when steelhead are winding down and spring Chinook are just starting. Nonetheless, there should still be some hatchery and wild winter steelhead available. A handful of Springers has already entered the river, but with warmer weather coming (finally!) water temps should start to come up a bit, and we should be seeing more soon. Anglers are reminded that the upper river from Moon Creek (Blaine) to Elk Creek closed to steelhead fishing March 31 to protect spawning wild steelhead.
