The East Walker River flows are currently at 250cfs and a little high with water demands downstream. Flows will start to come when night time lows start to fall and fishing will just improve. Please keep in mind that many of the easy to access areas have been busy so you may need to walk a little to find some open water away from others. Sporadic caddis hatches in the evenings provide dry fly fisherman with a short window of surface activity in slower runs. Other than caddis, hopper fishing has been good. Look for deeper water around shaded cover for eager hopper eating trout. Fly fisherman have reported a few fish on larger streamers. Remember that higher flows can make wading a challenge. Spin fisherman using rapalas may entice the occasional larger fish in the deeper pools or runs.
