Flows on the Grand Ronde will be on the drop this week and will offer up good steelhead fishing conditions.
Fishing will be very weather dependent over the next two months. Cold weather will mean low and icy conditions. With a combination of a bump in flows and moderate weather, fishing can be relatively good. With water temperatures remaining cold throughout winter, look for fish in slow pools and tail outs as they attempt to conserve energy.
Pressure is typically light through December and January with plenty of water available to fish. The bag limit for steelhead has been reduced to two fish per day through the end of April to ensure enough fish return to the hatchery facilities to meet program goals. Coho season closed on Nov. 30.
