With all the recent rain, high water may keep anglers off the river this week. But there will be some winter steelhead around once water levels begin to drop.

During the winter months, flow and visibility on the Clackamas will be affected by each passing front and change in snow levels.

USGS hydrological data for Jan. 13 shows river levels are near lood stage at 31,000 cfs, water temperature is 45.5F, and the gage height at 21.30 ft. All of the readings come from the Estacada gauge near Milo McIver State Park. Hydrologic data and river forecasts can also be accessed on the NOAA/National Weather Service NW River Forecast Center -- NW River Forecast Center.
