With the March 1 fishing opener of several eastern Washington lakes coming up, fish stocking has been underway and will continue as the weather warms up. Information on what lakes are being stocked and when is at https://wdfw.wa.gov/fis.../reports/stocking/trout-plants/all. Or for information on where to fish in your area, go to https://wdfw.wa.gov/fishing/locations/lowland-lakes.

A reminder to stay safe when fishing. Many eastern Washington lakes are still too iced over for boat fishing but also not safe enough for ice fishing. So brush up on ice safety guidelines if heading out.
Another reminder is to #RecreateResponsibly to protect yourself, others, and the outdoors. Some popular March 1 opener lakes are small and draw a crowd, such as the one on the Tucannon Wildlife Area in the photo. While outdoors is a great place to be, please continue to physically distance from those outside of your immediate party. And, as always, pack out whatever you bring in. #FishWashington
