At Roper Lake, reports from Park Ranger Michael DeLeon (courtesy of Arizona State Parks) are that trout fishing has been good and many anglers have been limiting out. Garlic scented PowerBait and small spinners have accounted for a majority of the fish. Bass fishing there is picking up, with anglers catching bass in the 2-3-pound range by dropshotting in 6 to 10 feet of water. Bass fishing is anticipated to heat up as they prepare for their annual spawn when water temps reach 60-62 degrees. Nightcrawlers and meal worms fished under a bobber are being used by anglers targeting sunfish and bluegill near shore.
