The 2021 statewide Trout Derby is a great opportunity to enjoy fishing at lakes across the state, all while angling for your share of hundreds of prizes. Here’s what you need to know to get in on this great annual tradition:
• The derby runs from April 24 through Oct. 31.
• Derby fish can be caught in more than 100 stocked lakes.
• Over 70 participating businesses are offering more than 1,000 prizes.
• Combined prizes are valued at over $38,000.
• Children age 14 and under fish free!
• The derby kicks off on the same day as the lowland lakes opener when lakes that aren’t open year-round will open to fishing: https://wdfw.wa.gov/fishing/locations/lowland-lakes.
• Take a photo of you and your tagged derby trout to share on social media using #watroutderby.
