The mainstem Nehalem River is high and off color; it is unlikely that it will get into “good” shape this week. There are still a few Chinook moving through, but the majority of fish are above the fishery and on the spawning grounds at this point in the year.
The North Fork will still have a few Chinook in decent shape available although the majority will be dark. The hatchery coho run is basically over for the season. Still no reports of winter steelhead yet, but there should be a few fish arriving by the end of the month.
