At Lake Havasu (report courtesy of John Galbraith of Bass Tackle Master), striper fishing has been good. Most shad are congregating on the California side, in the main basin area near Chalk Cliffs. So, naturally the stripers will be there too. Find the shad, then use white 3/4 and 1-ounce Rat-L-Traps, or soft body swimbaits rigged on a 3/8 to 3/4-ounce jig head. Early to mid morning hours have been best. Midday boils were producing 3- to 5-pound stripers near the Chalk Cliffs. Lake Havasu’s other bass species are also hitting fairly well. Both largemouth and smallmouth bass are hitting square bill cranks in shad or craw colors, in shallow coves with rock or gravel shorelines
