Hatchery winter steelhead on the Nestucca are from wild broodstock; as such they tend to mimic wild steelhead timing and the run really gets going in mid-December. That said, there could be a few early fish around.

Most of the Chinook run on the Nestucca is over, but the basin does get a few late fish. There is still opportunity to catch a food quality Chinook, but numbers will be low and success will probably be sporadic.

The wild coho fishery on the Nestucca basin closed after Oct. 15. There will be no retention of wild coho allowed for the remainder of 2022.
