Southern Nevada opportunities don’t stop for the winter! The days are warm, and fishing is still hot! Techniques will change but the fish still want to bite. Whether you are staying in town or want to go fishing for the day up north, fishing doesn’t have to slow down. Kirch Wildlife Management Area and Spring Valley State Park offer year-round trout fishing opportunities, even ice fishing! Yes, Southern Nevada has ice fishing opportunities from the end of December until the end of January. We recommend bundling up with layers and some gear and heading out to a nearby water. Night crawlers will entice the recently stocked trout, or a cold channel catfish held over from summer stockings.
