Report your hunt
If you purchased a tag for a 2022 hunt, you must report by Jan. 31 – even if you didn’t hunt or were unsuccessful. Information from hunters who did not hunt or did not harvest an animal is as important as from those who did take an animal. Find ways to report.
Apply for your spring bear tag
The spring bear controlled hunt season will open April 1, but the deadline to apply for your tag is Feb. 10. That deadline will be here before you know it! Learn more about how to apply.
Best bets for fishing
This weekend’s best bets include winter steelhead, ice fishing and crabbing.
- Winter steelhead season is in full swing in most areas, and with water levels falling, many rivers will be in great shape for the weekend.
- Ice fishing for trout and/or yellow perch has been good where the ice is thick enough.
- With rains tapering of this week, look for an uptake in your crab count.
Check out the zone reports for more details.
