Knott Creek Reservoir opens to fishing this season on June 10th. NDOW crews were recently up at Knott Creek Reservoir checking access, water levels, and working on a fish survey. The reservoir is accessible from both the north and south roads. The south road going up Cove Creek is in better shape than the road from the north. Recent rains and snow melt have created muddy areas and ruts and gullies in the roads. Water is over the road that goes around the east side of Knott Creek Reservoir, so access around the reservoir will not be possible. 4-wheel drive vehicles with good clearance and off-road tires are recommended. More rain could limit or prevent accessing the reservoir for the opener. Fish are healthy and in good condition with Rainbows, Cuttbows, and Tiger Trout averaging 18 inches and ranging from 12 inches to over 22 inches.
