The Nehalem is big and brown today and will likely be high and off color for the week. The only opportunity on the mainstem Nehalem will be wild winter steelhead (catch-and-release only) but those fish should be throughout the system when conditions improve. The winter steelhead run on the Nehalem peaks January through March but usually fishes best in February and March.
