Salmon anglers on the Sacramento River found that most of their quarry had moved upriver with the recent storm. Most of those fish have now passed through, and the river above Red Bluff will close after Oct. 31. The stretch of river from the Highway 113 Bridge upstream to the Sycamore Boat Ramp will remain open until Dec. 9. There will be an opportunity to catch a few salmon in that area until the season ends if you stick with it. These later fish should be in beautiful shape. Best bet will be the standard lures like a silver/chartreuse Luhr Jensen K16 Kwikfish with a sardine fillet wrapped on.
