Anglers on Lake Oroville have experienced a slowdown for the past week. The bass bite had been good until late last week, but all of a sudden it got stingy out there. The fish had been staging pretty well at 40-50 feet, but they just got unresponsive. The biggest bass over the weekend was just over four pounds, and it took 12 pounds [for five bass] to win the tournament. The coho salmon are literally everywhere in the lake, from 10 to 50 feet down. Most of them are around 12 inches long, and something like a Kastmaster is a good lure choice. We haven't seen any of the bigger ones recently, but we did hear that they might be at around 80 feet down near the dam.
