The mainstem Nehalem doesn’t have any hatchery steelhead releases, but there are wild steelhead available for catch-and-release fishing. The lower Nehalem is “steelhead green” and should be fishable through the week. The upper Nehalem will be getting a little on the low side, but still fishable. All wild steelhead must be released unharmed. Avoiding long fights and handling will reduce stress on released fish.
