The Wilson River has a hatchery summer steelhead release and while it is still early, those fish should start coming back this month. For this time of year, the lower river is probably the best bet but by June there is opportunity throughout the fishery. Summer steelhead can be finicky, but fishing early morning/late evening will improve the odds of an encounter.
There are no Spring Chinook releases on the Wilson, and we don’t see hardly any strays.
