Chinook fishing slowed this week, but there are still a few fish being caught daily. Most of the early fish are starting to move into the river, and the more traditional fall run fish are just coming in.‌

Due to a below average forecast the bag limits for wild Chinook salmon have been reduced. See the Regulation Updates section above for details.

Hatchery coho have been caught in the bay already and numbers are starting to increase with more fish jumping in the bay..‌

The wild coho fishery in Nehalem Bay opened Sept. 9. The fishery is open two days a week, Wednesdays and Saturdays, from Sept. 9 to Oct. 18. See the Regulation Updates section above for details. Hatchery coho are always open in the bay and this year will be the first return of wild broodstock origin hatchery adults.
