Winter steelhead are starting to show up in the Hood River. A few Hood River PIT tags have been detected at Bonneville in early December. Steelhead returns will increase through the New Year, with the run generally peaking mid-March.
During the winter months, Hood River flows can sharply increase from rain on snow events. Check water levels before you fish to make sure conditions are safe.
