Excellent action is happening at Lake Almanor, according to Doug Neal at Almanor Fishing Adventures. "Good fishing is reported in several areas, including the A-Frame, Rec. 1, the Fox Farm Canyon Dam, and Big Springs.

"Good lure choices include Seps Strike Master dodgers with a crawler back 18 to 20 inches, fished on a downrigger at 20 feet and trolled at 1.5 mph or less. There are a lot of fish over two pounds, with some king salmon over 20 inches, and a few rainbows in the 25-inch range.

"The bass bite is soaring as well, with unconfirmed reports of smallies up to four pounds. The fishing pressure has been light."

"The crappie fishing also took a jump with the start of our night-time hours, as did the bass fishing. Even the trout have kept on biting, and if you know how to fish a little deeper for trout, you can...... Read More
