(March 14 report courtesy of Western Outdoor News), bass anglers (both boaters and shore pounders) are still catching bass in shallow water where some fish are on beds. Ned rigs, drop-shots, stickbaits and tubes have all been working, and sight-fishing is definitely on the menu. There has also been a decent crankbait bite in 5 to 15 feet of water. Striped bass anglers are getting well into double digits if not flirting with 30 fish per trip once they’re located and targeted with Rat-L-Traps, spoons, swimbaits and cut bait. The new Site Six launch ramp is in the water, and while there is more work to be done, it’s expected to be operational by May. Big redear to over 3 pounds have been reported.
